Dedicated to Galveston Island arts, theatre, & music.

The purpose of the Galveston Theatre and Arts Partnership, Inc., (GTAP) is to educate the general public about the history of Galveston and the surrounding area through lectures, musicals and staged performances.

We are located at the 1929 Galveston Scottish Rite Cathedral, which is home to an authentic, original and recognized vaudeville theater in which we host various performances throughout the year. Our goal is to educate and entertain the general public, while elevating the highly developed status of the arts, culture, and crafts in this beautiful historically recognized city.

Scottish Rite Cathedral

The Galveston Scottish Rite Cathedral is the hidden gem of Galveston and a treasure of architectural beauty. Built in 1929 in an Art-Deco style by the notable Texas architect Alfred C. Finn, the building is home to a historically preserved four hundred seat vaudeville-era theater, a magnificent library/exhibition hall, an ornate ball room, as well as the famed Egyptian Room.

GTAP Events

Our mission is to bring artistic, musical and theatrical presentations to the public, in addition to preserving the historic Galveston Scottish Rite Cathedral’s vaudeville-era theater and exhibition halls.
